Turkey tail mushroom on Mt. Tamalpais

Despite all the strife in the world–and there is plenty–there is so much to be grateful for. As I look forward to celebrating on Thursday with family and friends, I’m especially thankful that we are all safe from the devastating fires that are ravaging California.

I’m thankful, too, for my health after a scare several years ago that taught me to never take good health for granted.

I’m thankful to my husband for the grass-roots campaign he undertook in pursuit of the California State Assembly seat for District 10. Although he lost to the incumbent, he made a very creditable showing and rallied thousands of people around the key issues of the environment, health care, and getting corporate money out of politics.

I have a remarkably kind and caring family, a dog who loves me unconditionally, and an abundance of friends (two of whom just celebrated birthdays on the same day). It seems the older I get, the more I treasure the people in my life.

I’m deeply thankful to all my fans and fellow writers for their outpouring of support and encouragement during my journey.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday.
