I’m proud to share this news: the Bay Area Independent Publishers Association (BAIPA) https://www.baipa.org/ chose The Sleeping Lady as 2018’s best work of fiction.

BAIPA was founded in 1979 and its members have published more than 2000 titles, some self-published, some (like mine) published through hybrid publishers. In addition to authors, members also include illustrators, editors, proofreaders, publicists, book designers, audiobook producers—in short, a wealth of talented folks eager to share their expertise.

I always find their monthly meetings informative, whether the topic is author websites, advertising on Amazon, or public speaking. It’s been a great way for me to connect with other local writers.

And kudos to the BAIPA runner-up: Lies That Bind by Craig J. Smith—coincidentally, also a mystery.
